What makes this Saison truly special is the addition of Sansho pepper and lemon verbena. Sansho pepper is similar to Sichuan pepper in that it provides a subtle tingling sensation on the tongue, but its aroma is much more intensely citrusy. Combined with a tea brewed from lemon verbena, these fresh citrus notes perfectly complement the dry, spicy character of the Saison, resulting in a crisp and remarkably refreshing beer.
