Marlobobo X Uchu Bourbon BA Cosmic Fusion 2023| BA Mead

Haskap and cherry mead aged in bourbon barrels. A collaboration with Uchu Brewing from Hokuto in Japan.

Masahiro from Uchu Brewing visited us in Sande during the 2023 Stevnsbær cherry harvest, and we came up with this blend together while hand-sorting cherries all day.

Haskap, also known as honeyberry, looks like elongated blueberries and has a unique flavor of sweet blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants. The color and acidity are truly unparalleled!

The fruit originally comes from Northern Japan and has recently been approved for planting in Europe. What better fruit to combine with the Stevnsbær cherries that Masahiro helped us harvest!

Stagg Jr. and Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels (12 months total aging)

Honey type:
A complex blend of wildflower honey from Konnerud and Løten. Combined with forest honey from Lillesand.
